Salary: $18.43 - $27.65 per hour
The Cybersecurity Student Assistant is designed to provide exposure to a variety of security tasks that one should expect a junior or entry-level security analyst to perform. These include SIEM (Security Information and Event Management) tool usage, virus/malware remediation, Procedural Documentation, audit support, incident response, and general tasks of the security operations center (SOC). In addition, CSA may be asked to complete a project to advance their understanding of cybersecurity. This project will be adjusted to the needs of TRWD and matched to the skill set of the student.

Log analysis
Malware/Virus removal and analysis
Phishing mailbox monitoring and remediation
Threat feed monitoring and updating
SIEM tool incident monitoring
SIEM tool dashboard/reporting creation and monitoring
Documentation and reporting
Maintain familiarity with strategic district levels of service
Continuous improvement monitoring and innovation efforts
Required Experience
Perform other duties as required
Less than one (1) year of related experience
General computer literacy
Introductory knowledge of security concepts: AV, Firewall, etc.
Good communication skills (Verbal and Written)

High School Diploma or GED
Entry into a qualified undergraduate degree. Qualified degrees are as follows:

Valid Texas drivers license
