This position provides the strategic direction and leadership for the IT Business Office function within GSOC Shared Services IT which supports GSOC, GTC, OPC, and GEMC, ensuring customer satisfaction with the services provided. The IT Business Office serves as a central strategic resource for all IT departments and IT leaders supporting the internal IT capabilities necessary to make the IT function successful. These elements include ownership of the IT operating model, IT project management office, internal IT processes and related documentation, IT budgeting and planning, IT standards, work management, vendor management, relationship management, internal controls and compliance, and talent/training management. This position works closely with the CIO on the development of IT strategy and governance. This position must work closely with leadership across GSOC, GTC, OPC, and GEMC to ensure that IT planning is in alignment with the direction of Shared Services IT's business stakeholders.
Ensures staff compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, industry standards, corporate policies, guidelines and procedures, including but not limited to, SOX, RUS, OSHA, NERC, FERC and ITS requirements. Promotes an environment of compliance and continuous improvement to meet the Corporation's goals and objectives.
Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, IT, Engineering, or related field.
Experience: 12 years in the area of IT, Cybersecurity, Information Assurance, Cloud Services, Software Engineering, Application Support, Technology, at least 5 years of which in a management or leadership role.
Equivalent Experience: Associate's degree in Computer Science, Business Administration, IT, Engineering, or related field with at least 18 years of experience with IT Infrastructure, Cybersecurity, Information Assurance, Cloud Services, IT, Technology, at least 10 years of which in a management or leadership role.
Specialized Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills. Proven ability to quickly adapt and lead cross-functional/organizational change with confidence. Demonstrated ability to make decisions using a risk framework with incomplete information and a bias toward action. Excellent problem solver coupled with a proven ability to lead groups involved in fast paced, high-pressure environments.
Unusual Hours: Provides emergency coverage for technology issues. Responsive to after hours calls, texts, messages, emails, etc. relating to technology and business emergencies.
