The Engineering & Technology Operations Division has an exciting opportunity for an Associate Electrical Engineering Specialist in Technical Resources. The Technical Resources Unit is responsible for collecting, preparing, updating and maintaining all drawings of hydroelectric projects and high voltage substations to ensure drawings used by the City are accurate and timely to avoid project delays and work hazards.
This position will be the primary CAD Drafter for multi-disciplinary CIP and O&M projects. They will create preliminary and final construction plans related to electrical systems for power plants, substation and/or distribution. The ideal candidate will possess knowledge in Electrical Engineering drafting, Autodesk platform skills and electronic document management experience. This position will report to the Technical Resources Supervisor.

Here Is More About What You’ll Be Doing
The services provided by the Technical Resource Unit include, but are not limited to, design drawings, post-construction record drawings, document management and technological initiatives. Design drawings are created in conjunction with the project Engineers and graphically represent the proposed improvement. Preparation of preliminary and final plans, schematics, wire diagrams and drawings of the electrical features. Post-construction record drawings are created from field records of modifications made during construction. All work is done in AutoCAD or AutoCAD Electrical and other design drafting applications. The successful candidate in this position would predominantly support Engineers in design and drafting, performing well-defined design work, document management and post-construction record drawings.
Traveling to remote sites to collect as-built information, survey and to update existing drawings will be required.

Requires two years’ electrical engineering experience, and an Associate Degree in Electrical Engineering Technology or two years of college level instruction in electrical engineering (or a combination of education and/or training and/or experience which provides an equivalent background required to perform the work of the class).
License, Certification And Other Requirements
Current Washington State driver's license or evidence of equivalent mobility.

Additional Information
The full salary range for this position is $51.74 to $60.23 per hour.
