Coeur Mining is a U.S.-based, well-diversified, growing, precious metals producer with four wholly-owned operations: the Palmarejo gold-silver complex in Mexico, the Rochester silver-gold mine in Nevada, the Kensington gold mine in Alaska and the Wharf gold mine in South Dakota. About the Job:

The Environmental Field Technician is responsible for the performance of the following duties in a safe and productive manner.


Responsibilities:

Maintain a safe and organized workplace, complete regular workplace and equipment inspections
Complete and monitor required soil and water sampling; maintain regulation compliance, ensure proper sample protocol, etc.
Coordinate shipment of samples to outside laboratories for analysis along with proper sample handling
Perform basic maintenance and service on all air quality, ground water and surface water sites including unsupervised repairs
Perform storm water inspections as required by the Surface Water Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPP)
Conduct Visible Emissions Evaluations (VEE) as required by the Title V Air Quality Permit
Complete and maintain records, reports and inspections required for compliance
Monitor the upkeep of Wildlife Fencing around the mine site; repairs, maintenance, etc.
Perform various reclamation duties including broadcast seeding of prepared sites, hydro-mulching, fertilizing, tree planting, and maintenance
Perform basic maintenance on water treatment equipment and systems
Coordinate with operations to maintain access to injection wells and treatment ponds
Perform field tests and in house sample analysis; Must be able to calibrate and operate field sampling instrumentation
Collect various flow readings and water level monitoring data
Knowledge of pumping systems and boiler operation


Physical Requirements

Follow all procedures and safety measures to assure safe production
Work in all conditions and environments, approximately 90% of job is outdoors
Able to lift 50lbs. on an occasional basis
Able to walk up and down slopes and uneven ground daily


Required Qualifications & Skills:

Willing to stop work for safety concerns and always abide by safety best practices, policies and procedures
Knowledge and functional ability to perform basic computer operations


Qualifications:

Must have or be able and willing to test for and obtain state certifications in Water and Waste Water Treatment
Must be able to pass the EPA Method 9 test for Visible Emissions every six months. This requires good vision with or without corrective lenses
Ability and availability to work weekends and some holidays as required

Additional Information: Willing to work alternating between 5 work days, 5 days off, 4 work days, and 5 more days off.
