American Power & Gas is seeking an ERCOT Portfolio Manager.

American Power & Gas offers green solutions to both residential and small commercial energy customers. We are one of the oldest and most reputable companies of its kind in our industry and the largest company of our kind in the Tampa bay area with over 100,000 customers and a state of the art 30,000 square foot facility.

This is an onsite fulltime position for someone who currently lives in the Tampa Bay / St. Petersburg Fl. area. US Citizen or Greencard required.

Position: ERCOT Portfolio Manager

Location: Tampa Bay Area (In-house position)

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:30 am - 5:00 pm

Salary: Competitive, based on experience

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

•

ERCOT Specific Knowledge: Familiarity with ERCOT’s market structure, including day-ahead and real-time markets, congestion management, ancillary services, and settlement processes.

•

Nodal Market Experience: Experience working within nodal electricity markets, especially understanding Locational Marginal Pricing (LMP) and congestion zones.

•

Modeling & Forecasting: Experience in developing or using models for load forecasting, price forecasting, and optimization.

•

Portfolio Management: Experience managing a diverse portfolio of physical and/or financial power assets, including renewables and retail load.

•

Risk Management: Familiarity with risk metrics like exposure tracking, and hedging strategies.

•

Real-Time and Day-Ahead Trading: Practical experience participating in ERCOT day-ahead and real-time markets.

•

Asset Optimization: Understanding of how to economically dispatch or schedule resources to maximize portfolio value.

•

Reporting: Ability to communicate risks to senior management clearly and concisely using data analytics.
