Estimator / Purchasing

We are seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented, and proactive Estimator/Purchaser to join the Engelsma Homes team. This role is essential to the planning and execution of costing for our residential construction projects, ensuring accuracy, cost-efficiency, and timely delivery of costing from concept to completion.

We’re looking for a Cost Estimator that can work closely with clients, architects, subcontractors, and vendors to properly cost the execution of our premier residential construction projects. In the role you will:

Key Roles of Estimating, Preconstruction, and Change Order Management:

● If you have a degree in Construction Management, Accounting, Finance, or a related field or already know your way around high-end residential construction, that will ensure your quick success. If you don’t come with those credentials, but you possess the foundational skills and the right mindset to learn quickly, we could be a great place to learn and grow.

● Contribute directly to project success by preparing and sending requests for quotes, tracking and organizing the information as it comes in, inputting pricing and then following up to generate clear, professional proposals.

● Use your eye for details and knowledge of spreadsheets to analyze blueprints, specifications, and scope documents to perform material take-offs and compile detailed cost breakdowns

● Apply your excellent organization, time management skills and sense of urgency to ensure projects stay on track, track and organize vendor and subcontractor quotes with follow up as needed, and set up job files and documentation for project kickoff.

● Use strong communication skills to serve as a key onsite point of contact on all pricing requests and questions from team members in sales, design, and project management.

● Obtain and evaluate pricing for change orders, communicate pricing updates to internal teams (sales, design, project management), update sales orders, purchase orders, and project documentation upon approval of changes
