Based in Vancouver, we design, build, and operate hydrogen fuel supply solutions to support the deployment of hydrogen fuel cell electric vehicles. Job Summary

We are looking for a technician to help build, operate, and service hydrogen fuel supply equipment and systems. The role is expected to be 70 % field work, 10 % building in HTEC’s shop and 20 % in HTEC office for operation management and improvement initiatives.


Job Responsibilities

Perform maintenance and servicing of hydrogen stations within the Lower Mainland, with occasional service required in Victoria and Kelowna, and occasional need to assist with project commissioning in various locations.


Including:

Conducting preventative maintenance tasks to ensure continued station health

Contributing to station monitoring and station reliability improvement
Identifying and fixing gas/liquid leaks
Installing tubing & assembling compression style fittings
Re-building hydrogen compressors
Recognize and help diagnose errors & problems in the process
Contributing to the cleanliness of stations and stations equipment
Participate in the commissioning and start up of new equipment


Requirements:

Strong mechanical aptitude
Hands-on tool experience
Experience working with mechanical equipment
Knowledge of safe work practices (PPE, working with flammable gas, rated zones, construction zones)
Able to work independently and contribute to team effort when required
Willing to be on call during some predetermined periods
Willing to learn: The process of delivering hydrogen for fuel cell vehicles is a relatively new field and there may be many concepts/practices novel to you. It is important to realize your abilities and limitations. We will be supportive and understanding in order to maintain a safe environment committed to promoting learning.


Assets:

Experience tubing/piping for gaseous mediums
Class 4 Power Engineering Diploma
Certificate/Diploma in any field relevant to field operation and/or mechanical trades
Able to document summaries, work orders, and status reports clearly
Knowledge of compressors, pressure vessels, valves, and/or seals
Experience with compression style fittings
Industrial work experience – Oil and Gas specifically
Bilingual French/English an asset
Experience with high pressure gas systems

Pay: $30.00-$40.00 per hour
