Foreman/Machine Operator/Miner

Responsibilities and qualifications

We operate in small groups at remote quarry sites. All employees are required to safely perform any and all tasks/positions, at any given moment. "task flexibility" is a must, regardless of what the primary position/title is.

Heavy equipment operation includes: [ must have a minimum of 4 years experience, with references ] testing required.

- Excavator, both, full size and mini

- Front loader

- Telehandler

- Rock splitter

- Other

Requirements:

- Valid Montana drivers license

- Able to lift 50+ lbs. for extended periods of time and handle a physical workload

- 8-10 hour shifts (depending on season)

-Transport crew in work truck (if required)

- Load inventory onto semi-flatbed, side-dump, dump truck, gooseneck, etc.

- Properly secure loads and transport (if required)

Mechanical knowledge is a must

- Able to perform daily/preventative maintenance on ALL equipment including;

- Greasing

- fluid and filter change

- Inspection

- Ability to assess common issues with equipment such as;

- Identifying loose components

- compromised hydraulic lines

- Able to address/repair if able

Worksite overview

- Smith River Stone provides bulk hard-rock, in multiple forms.

- Material is sourced from various open-cast quarry sites

- Employees are classified as Surface-Miners and are therefore required to perform their job in accordance with MSHA

- CPR certification required (conducted by a third party)

- MSHA safety training (conducted by third party)

- Heavy equipment training (provided on site)

- PPE (safety gear provided)

Advancement

If employee is able to perform all required tasks in a proper, efficient, and safe manner, and shows skills for a potential leadership position, we will quickly reassess overall "value" and adjust the hourly compensation accordingly. As we are currently a relatively small company, there is plenty of space for advancement.
