Scope of Work:
A Waukesha Pearce Industries (WPI) Generator Tech Class B is expected to execute their knowledge of generators and engines to complete PM maintenance on standby generators, read wiring schematics and wire simple projects.
Primary Job Responsibilities:
•Performs maintenance and repairs on generators and associated controls
•Completes proper timecards and service reports on a daily basis
•Updates and reviews personal knowledge of all changes and variations of the generators and controls sold and serviced by WPI
•Keeps all service updates available for reference
•Attends service schools and training programs offered by WPI
•Perform other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications:
•Must have a minimum of 1 years previous experience
•G.E.D. or High School Diploma
•Must be able to work and learn from others
•Must have a mechanical and/or electrical aptitude
•Must have an aptitude to learn to read simple wiring schematics and learn to wire circuits
•Must be able to supply your own tools
•Trade school or special training preferred
Requirements: Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)
•Must have a current driver’s license and proof of insurance
•Must be able to pass and maintain drug and alcohol testing requirements as outlined by the Department of Transportation
•Must be able to complete PM maintenance on standby generators
•Must be computer literate, a Windows based environment preferred. (MS Word, Excel, Outlook)
•Must be able to lift 50 lbs., bend and twist several times daily
•Must have the ability to work flexible hours and days
•Must be dependable and able to work independently
•Must maintain a professional appearance
•Must maintain good client relations
•Must promote and maintain a clean, neat and safe work environment
Working Conditions and Physical Demands:
•Typical hours of work Monday - Friday; 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.
•Overtime and weekend hours as necessary
