This person is responsible for structural welding repairs on earth moving equipment. These repairs will be performed on equipment to include 657 scrapers, D10 / D9 dozers, 992 loaders and other support equipment. Removal/replace of damaged material, installation of new parts, build-up of components on scraper cans/floors, aprons, ejectors, hitches, dozer faces, loader buckets etc.
· Must have experience in Heavy Equipment welding, repair, fabrication, and rebuilds
· Must have experience with heavy wire 71M, Select Arc, Lincoln or equivalent
· Must have necessary tooling required for this position
· Works safely at all times, and adheres to all applicable safety policies.
· Operate welding equipment. Preform air-arc, arc welding, gas welding, cutting, and heating in all positions including vertical up, flat, and overhead.
· Sets up equipment to weld using the correct temperatures and procedures for the type pf material being welded.
· Able to use basic hand tools to include pneumatic, hydraulic, electric, grinders, mearing tape, squares, hammers, etc.
· Repairs components by dismantling, straightening, reshaping, and reassembling
· Repair, recondition, weld, fabricate, and maintain equipment and components
· Maintain paperwork documentation of work performed (work orders) in a complete and timely manner on a daily/job basis as well as documentation of labor, and service reports
· Identify and communicate the need for, supplies, tooling, and parts inventory
· Performs duties not previously listed to complete assigned tasks
· This is a hands-on Heavy Equipment Welding Repair Facility. Requirements include:
· Regularly required to walk, stand, bend, kneel, reach, for prolonged periods of time to perform tasks, while welding, cutting, or grinding.
· Ability to climb over and into heavy equipment several times per day
· Must be able to lift, carry, push, pull or move up to 25- 50 lbs.
· Ability to wear hearing and eye protection as required
· Basic knowledge of heat stresses in metal
Work schedule: 10 hr./per day, 5-6 day a week depending on work load.
Six paid holidays, 5 days paid vacation after 1 year, 10 days paid vacation after 3 years.
