About This Job

SUMMARY:

The Human Resources Generalist is responsible for supporting the following functional areas: recruiting, employee relations, onboarding, training, performance management, affirmative action, payroll, unemployment, and associate engagement.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Duties include but are not limited to:

Partners with associates and management to communicate various Human Resources policies, procedures, laws, standards and government regulations. Maintains compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment and payroll.

Serve as primary point of contact between benefit providers, employees, and management.
Support and guide managers in dealing with employee relations issues and performance improvement opportunities to proactively address associate’s needs.
Manage and process all aspects of hourly and salary payrolls.
Manage process and execution of staffing at all levels of the organization.
Maintains Human Resource Information System records and time keeping system, including handling any issues or recommending new processes.
Facilitate FMLA, ADA, STD and LTD claims.
Participate in and attend HR continuous education and development sessions, conferences and webinars to stay abreast of leading practices.
Facilitates and provides training to the workforce such as hourly associates development training, orientation, benefits, etc.
Represents the company for any unemployment claims.
Analyzes HR data and makes recommendations to management for corrective action and continuous improvement.
Develops and maintains affirmative action program.
Other administrative duties as follows.

Investigate, review, recommend, and implement acceptable resolution creating win-win situations from a business and operational standpoint and with the individuals involved Provide Policy guidance and interpretation
Ability to make independent judgement when critical situations arise.
Ability to make recommendations to effectively resolve problems or issues, by using independent judgment that is consistent with standards, practices, policies, procedures, regulation or government law.
Knowledge of using a variety of computer software applications, especially Microsoft Excel and Word.
High level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations and documentation.
Attention to detail in composing, typing, and proofing materials.
Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
Ability to organize, prioritize work, and meet deadlines.
Provide monthly updates to employees via plantwide meetings and breakroom bulletin board/slideshow.
Other duties as assigned.

Education and Experience Requirements:

Bachelor’s Degree in a related discipline or equivalent education and experience, required.

2-4 years of experience in a hands-on, fast paced human resources field, required.

Experience In a Manufacturing Environment, Preferred.

SHRM-PHR or CP certification, preferred.

While performing the duties of this Job, the associates is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually minimal to moderate.
