Reports to: HR Specialist
Job Summary: This position will support the Holland Board of Public Works (HBPW) Human Resources department.
Essential Duties/ Projects
•Assist in maintaining, auditing and updating personnel files and Human Resources Information System (HRIS).
•Assist in recruiting efforts, including contacting applicants, scheduling interviews and testing, and participating in interviews.
•Help coordinate and attend company events.
•Support HR in various projects.
•Perform other related tasks as assigned.
Essential Qualifications
•Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s degree program in Human Resources, Business, or a closely related field.
•Strong verbal and written communication skills.
•Ability to work in a self-directed or team environment.
•Strong organizational skills.
•Excellent computer and Microsoft Office skills.
Preferred Qualifications
•Relevant internship/work/research experience a plus
•Junior or Senior status preferred
Physical Requirements & Working Conditions
•Ability to perform the essential duties of the job.
•Ability to sit in one position for extended periods of time.
•Mental ability to frequently handle pressures related to working on multiple projects requiring attention to detail and dealing with the concerns of employees.
•Normal office environment with minimum discomfort due to noise, dirt and dust.
