Position Title: I&E Project Engineer

Reports to: Project Engineering Manager

Position Classification: Client Contractor

Duration: Long-term (no set duration)

FLSA Status: Non- Exempt

Location: Pasadena, TX

Work Schedule: Monday- Thursday (10-hour days) or Monday-Friday (8-hour days) -Optional.

Core Job Responsibilities

•

read regular P&ID drawings and electrical isometrics.

•

75% capital project ($10k-$500K) and 25% troubleshooting time.

•

Drafting the drawing and working packages.

•

Develop, design, perform cost estimation and prepare/submit “Authorization for Expenditures” (AFE’s) for onsite projects per plant requirements.

•

Prepare specifications and procure materials and equipment for timely and efficient execution of projects.

•

Perform cost tracking/status reporting for projects, including monthly accruals and CAPEX forecasts as assigned by Engineering Management.

•

Manage multiple projects simultaneously within a defined budget and execution schedule.

•

Prepare periodic reports and management reviews for assigned projects.

•

Follow all safety rules and guidelines as established by the Plant.

•

Other duties, as assigned.

Essential Skills & Qualifications

•

6-10 Years experience in an I&E Engineering role with at least 4 years exposure in a refinery/chemical-operating environment.

•

A BS in engineering is required.

•

Prior experience with SAP and MicroStation preferred.

•

Experience must be related to both instrument and electrical projects, including control system work.

•

Supervisory skills are required, with the ability to communicate and interact with other disciplines.

•

Proficient project coordination and management skills are a must.

Physical Requirements

•

Occasionally lift objects weighing up to 25 pounds

•

Sit for long periods of time

•

Occasionally stoop, kneel or crouch

•

Use hands and arms to reach for, grasp and manipulate objects

Environment: Working conditions encountered in this job include those found in a typical office setting as well as an indoor/outdoor manufacturing setting which includes exposure to outside weather conditions, work at elevated heights, climbing of stairs and ladders, and physical manipulation of tools and mechanical equipment. This job demands the use of typical manufacturing personal protective equipment as well as advanced protective equipment as needed.
