About This Job

Job Summary:

The I&E Instrumentation Technician is responsible for installing, maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing electrical, electronic, and pneumatic instrumentation systems used in industrial processes. This role ensures that all equipment operates efficiently and safely to meet production requirements and regulatory standards.


Key Responsibilities:

Installation and Calibration: Install, calibrate, and commission instrumentation devices such as sensors, transmitters, controllers, valves, and analyzers to ensure accurate measurement and control of process variables.

Maintenance and Repair: Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on instrumentation equipment to prevent downtime and maintain optimal performance. Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical, electronic, and mechanical issues using diagnostic tools and techniques.
Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols and procedures while working with electrical systems and hazardous materials. Ensure compliance with industry regulations, company policies, and best practices to maintain a safe working environment.
Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, equipment configurations, and calibration procedures. Generate reports on equipment performance, reliability, and maintenance history to support decision-making and regulatory compliance.
Collaboration: Coordinate with other departments, including engineering, operations, and maintenance, to address instrumentation-related issues and support plant operations. Communicate effectively with stakeholders to prioritize tasks and resolve problems on time.
Training and Development: Stay updated on industry trends, technological advancements, and best practices related to instrumentation and electrical systems. Participate in training programs and skill development activities to enhance knowledge and expertise in the field.


Qualifications and Skills:

A high school diploma or equivalent, technical certification, or associate degree in instrumentation, electrical engineering, or a related field is preferred.
Proven experience as an instrumentation technician or in a similar role in an industrial setting.
Strong knowledge of electrical systems, instrumentation principles, and control systems.
Proficiency in reading electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation.
Familiarity with Rosemont Instrumentation
Familiarity with PLCs (Programmable Logic Controllers), DCS (Distributed Control Systems), and SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) systems.Ability to troubleshoot and diagnose electrical, electronic, and pneumatic issues using appropriate tools and techniques.
Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
Strong commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
Effective communication skills and ability to interact with diverse teams and stakeholders.


Physical Requirements:

Ability to work in confined spaces, climb ladders, and lift heavy objects.
Willingness to work outdoors and withstand exposure to noise, extreme temperatures, and hazardous chemicals.
