Job Summary

The Instrument and Electrical Supervisor acts as supervisory direct report and oversees the daily Instrument and Electrical (I&E) maintenance operations in the field and shop; provides mentoring and coaching support to the I&E team; supports other organization departments and teams with new technology implementation and modification; and provides instrument and control expertise as needed.


Responsibilities

Oversee the daily I&E field and shop maintenance operations
Act as supervisory direct report for assigned personnel (i.e., coaching, mentoring, performance management, corrective action, training, defining daily priorities, creating work schedules, etc.)
Manage time and attendance for assigned personnel including timecard approval or paid time off
Assist I&E Manager with the hiring of I&E personnel (i.e., collaborate with Human Resources recruiters, perform interviews, select qualified talent, etc.)
Ensure all I&E team members have the correct tools to complete required tasks in a safe and efficient manner
Report process inefficiencies to the I&E Manager (i.e., supply chain and warehouse constraints)
Provide instrumentation and control expertise and technical assistance when needed
Support other organization departments with new technology implementation and modification
Collaborate with relevant parties to conduct equipment failure Root Cause Analyses (RCAs)
Establish a live dynamic schedule to include technician’s status and fleet status (i.e., on duty, off duty, or on approved paid time off)
Collaborate with instrument and control manufacturers and 3rd party vendors to implement new technology for relevant organizational department teams
Identify project and cost saving opportunities that can contribute to the organization’s strategic goals
Develop formal project proposals that incorporate Management of Change (MOC) principles and identify key individuals best suited to achieve project objectives
Communicate all performance related conversations and actions to I&E Manager
Adhere to written policies, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), training requirements, and the organization’s business guidelines
Always demonstrate exceptional workplace professionalism especially during difficult scenarios
Remain constantly available to support the I&E team and the organization and delegate responsibilities to trusted team member in the case of unavoidable absence
Safely drive a company vehicle day or night, on various road types, and in all-weather conditions
Maintain compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies by attending all required HSE training sessions, safety meetings, and always utilize proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
Other duties as assigned


Qualifications

Minimum 7 years' experience maintaining and repairing electronic instrumentation and automation equipment on well servicing equipment, preferred
A technical associate degree is preferred and may be considered in lieu of experience
High School education or equivalent, required
Maintaining a current, valid driver’s license and a clean driving record, required
Must demonstrate advanced knowledge of electronic instrumentation and automation equipment used in hydraulic fracturing operations
Must demonstrate advanced knowledge of perforating and hydraulic fracturing operations
Must demonstrate advanced skills working with diagnostic software and equipment controls (i.e., RSO, CAT ET, Rolligan, AMI, Scada, etc.)
Strong leadership characteristics; can effectively train, monitor, and track the progress, and delegate responsibilities to a team
Highly collaborative with excellent written and verbal communication skills; can effectively interact with team members, vendors, and personnel across the organization
Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office 365 applications and able to quickly learn other work-related software
Must be safety conscious and willing to use stop work authority when necessary
Must be willing and able to make schedule adjustments when required and work alternate shifts as requested by supervisor
Must be always available for I&E team or ensure coverage of responsibilities
Must be physically able to safely operate light duty trucks and drive a company vehicle day or night, on all road types, and in all weather conditions
Must be physically able to safely to perform duties during a 12+ hour work shift that will include days or nights, weekends, and holidays
Must be physically able to safely perform duties in all weather conditions
Must be physically able to bend, stoop, kneel, twist, crawl, walk on uneven surfaces, and climb equipment ladders or stairs throughout the work shift
Must be physically able to occasionally lift or move up to 50 lbs. without assistance
Must be physically able to withstand frequent exposure to moving mechanical parts, fumes, toxic chemicals, airborne particles, and moderate to loud noises
