ABOUT THE ROLE

Instrumentation engineering on a variety of assigned small and medium sized projects. Working level for fully qualified instrumentation technologists. Responsible for design basis, P&ID development, equipment selection, detailed design and field implementation at junior to intermediate level under the guidance of the Instrumentation Lead.

RESPONSIBILITIES

•

Assist in project engineering and detailed design activities (P&ID development, design & drawing checks, purchasing, construction coordination, commissioning and start up assistance).

•

Input to project Design Basis Memorandums (DBM), Scopes of Work (SOW), Process Flow Diagram (PFD) and Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID’s).

•

Creation, checking and completion of Instrumentation Data Sheets.

•

Specification and procurement of appropriate instrumentation to meet project / application requirements.

•

Create and maintain Instrumentation deliverables (Instrumentation Indexes, Installation Details, Instrument Sizing and Utility Flow Sheets).

•

Coordinate tagging of instruments and squad checks with Vendors.

•

Instrumentation support for internal & external Design Reviews.

YOUR KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS

•

Ability to organize and prioritize multiple work activities.

•

Excellent verbal and written communication skills coupled with the ability to work effectively with all clients, both internal and external.

•

Ability to function in multidisciplinary projects involving various disciplines.

•

Ability to work and contribute individually and as part of a team.

Establish, maintain, and build healthy internal and client relationships.

•

Strong work ethic and attention to detail.

•

Proficient working knowledge of Microsoft office.

•

Must have a passion for learning and understanding new industries and projects.

YOUR QUALIFICATIONS

•

Technical school graduate with 2-8 years of engineering experience preferably in Western Canada in conventional and unconventional oil and gas.

•

Production Facility/Wellpad Design and or some Project Engineering experience.

•

Highly proficient in MS Office including training with vendor and database software.

•

Experience with Smart Plant Instrumentation (SPI) would be an asset.
