About This Job

Gravity is a small design studio with a big passion for bringing meaningful ideas to life. We focus on branding, digital design, reports, and everything in between – helping clients across different industries create visually compelling stories. Our design philosophy? Make it smart, make it beautiful, and have fun along the way.

We thrive on creativity, collaboration, and are passionate about design that makes a real impact. But we also know great work comes from a great work culture. Whether we’re discovering new food spots, connecting over virtual happy hours, or geeking out over the latest design trends, we believe work should be as enjoyable as it is rewarding.

If you’re looking for a place where you can flex your creativity, be part of a supportive team, and have a little fun while doing it, we’d love to meet you.

Why You’ll Love Working Here:

Creative Freedom & Growth: We encourage fresh ideas and give you the space to flex your creative muscles and bring your ideas to the table. Plus we invest in professional development – think conferences, workshops, and training opportunities.
Collaboration & Culture: We’re a supportive, friendly team that loves working together. Whether it’s a virtual lunch date, a fun team challenge, or swapping the latest design inspiration, we keep things engaging.
Work-life balance: We believe in working smart, not just hard. Flexibility is key, so you can do your best work without burning out.
Perks and Benefits: We support ongoing professional development and will cover the cost of your RGD membership, provide access to industry events, and other perks to help you grow and stay inspired. Let’s talk health benefits – we want to make sure they work for you.
Commitment to Equity & Inclusion: At Gravity, we’re committed to building a workplace and culture that’s welcoming, equitable, diverse and inclusive for everyone. We are an equal opportunity employer and we do not discriminate on the basis of race, ancestry, place of origin, colour, ethnic origin, citizenship, creed, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, age, record of offences, marital status, family status or disability.

Job responsibilities

Role Overview:

We’re looking for an Intermediate Designer to join our growing team. If you have a sharp eye for detail, a knack for crafting engaging design, and a passion for creating unique brand experiences, this is your time to shine. You’ll collaborate with our talented team, work on a diverse mix of projects, and bring fresh creative ideas to the table.

Bonus points if you love a good food pun and aren't afraid to show off your creative chops.

Key Responsibilities:

Design compelling visuals for print, branding, websites, communication materials, social media, and more – from concept to execution.
Interpret creative briefs and translate them into impactful design to create unique brand experiences.
Collaborate on web design projects, ensuring seamless user experiences that align with brand guidelines.
Manage and take ownership of projects from concept to completion, and multi-task projects in order to meet various deadlines.
Work closely with the Creative Director and team to develop and refine design concepts and processes.
Participate in client meetings – present your ideas, gather feedback, and refine designs with confidence.
Ensure all creative work meets studio standards and exceeds client expectations.

Qualifications

What You Bring to the Team:

3+ years of professional experience in graphic design (preferably in a studio or agency environment).
Degree or diploma in Graphic Design, Visual Communications, or related field.
An impressive portfolio showcasing a wide range of print and digital projects, with an impeccable sense of design and stellar consistency across multiple platforms.
Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, XD).
Familiarity with Microsoft products (in particular Word, Powerpoint, Excel and Sharepoint).
Strong conceptual thinking and problem solving skills, combined with an excellent sense of visual design.
A strong grasp of design principles, typography, layout, and colour theory.
Knowledge of typesetting and flowing French and other secondary languages into design layouts, ensuring proper formatting and readability.
Well-versed in web design – UX and UI design.
Equally comfortable with print production and set up.
Ability to juggle multiple projects while keeping an eye on fine details.
A well-organized team player who thrives in a collaborative environment but is just as comfortable working independently.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills – you’re comfortable presenting your work to both clients and team members.
A passion for exploring different design solutions across various mediums.
Strong knowledge of AODA standards for both print and digital.

Nice to Have (But Not a Dealbreaker):

Experience with animation or motion graphics (e.g., After Effects, Final Cut Pro).
