Junior Estimator

PURPOSE OF THE POSITION/POSITION OVERVIEW

The Junior Estimator position is responsible for providing support for their Senior Estimator. A comprehensive understanding of the Construction and Framing Industries will also be needed to assist in providing quality support. Being part of the team would also include other task such as providing technical assistance and liaising with Project Managers and Sales Staff.

KEY EFFECTIVENESS AREAS/RESPONSIBILITIES

Duties & Responsibilities:

· Assist and work closely with Senior Estimator with a good understanding of the estimating process.

· Understand Construction Documents / Engineering / Blueprints / Estimating.

· Understand & have the ability to discuss project details, dimensions, etc.

· Understand Purchasing / Price Checking / Communicate Variances

· Understand the Submittal Process & Organization of process.

· Prepare take offs for all material and secure quote from manufactures.

· Good customer relations, be able to communicate well with customers.

· Work within and help build the team involved in estimating process.

· Assist in scheduling projects as needed.

· Understand and maintain confidentiality relating to all business activities, especially relating to manufacturing details and customer/ supplier details.

Teamwork and Leadership Responsibilities:

· Managing Project Schedules & understanding Project Critical Paths.

· Provide Support to your Sales Staff.

· Work as a team. Call out for additional assistance immediately if a question comes up that you are not highly competent in responding to.

· Liaises with Sales, Pre-Construction, Customer, and Production.

· Be able to set up and coordinate project meetings customers, engineers, etc.

· Manage time in an effective manner, delegate to other team members.

· Confidentiality is paramount.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $21.00 - $27.00 per hour
