The Opportunity:

The

Lab Technologist

will report directly to the Manager – Cement Laboratory. The Technologist will carry out duties as directed by the senior members of the team or Manager and will be expected to carry out daily testing requirements in an efficient and accurate manner.

GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

•

Perform lab testing in the area of oil well cementing

•

Maintain a clean and safe work area

•

Understand the operation and maintenance of specified lab instruments

•

Be able to obtain accurate results and submit them to Engineering or Operations in a clear format

•

Ensure documented compliance with the Sanjel Energy’s Quality assurance programs

•

Be able to manage small projects with guidance from a more senior employee

•

Occasional on-call and OT is required; may be required to work off-set hours

QUALIFICATIONS:

•

Direct experience in a similar role (Oilfield Cementing Lab Tech) is a significant advantage

•

Minimum Diploma in Chemical or Petroleum Technology is required

•

Experience working in a laboratory environment conducting standard routine tests and analysis; previous oilfield experience is strongly preferred

•

Ability to read and interpret documents, such as safety rules and/or operating and maintenance procedures

•

Ability to understand instructions in written, oral or diagram form

•

Class 5 driver's license with clean drivers abstract
