POSITION SUMMARY

The Landscape Laborer is a key member of our ground maintenance or construction team, responsible for a variety of landscaping tasks aimed at maintaining and enhancing the appearance of residential and commercial properties. Based in Plymouth, Massachusetts, this full-time role involves hands-on activities such as mowing, planting, mulching, edging, and performing seasonal cleanups. The Landscape Laborer will operate under the guidance of the Landscape Maintenance Foreman or Landscape Construction Foreman, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently, safely, and to the highest standards of quality. The ideal candidate will have a robust work ethic, excellent attention to detail, and the physical capability to handle demanding outdoor work in various weather conditions. This position does not require mowing but focuses on fundamental landscape installation and upkeep tasks that contribute to the aesthetic and functional value of the environments we service.

OBJECTIVES

Consistently perform landscaping tasks that improve the visual appeal of residential and commercial properties.
Ensure the health and vigor of plantings through proper mulching, watering, and soil care.
Complete all assigned landscaping tasks, such as planting, edging, and seasonal cleanups, efficiently and within the allocated time frames.
Work collaboratively with the landscaping team to complete projects smoothly and efficiently, sharing knowledge and skills as necessary.
Adhere strictly to all company safety policies and regulations to maintain a safe working environment for all team members.
Maintain high standards of quality in all landscaping tasks to meet or exceed client expectations.
Properly use, maintain, and store all landscaping tools and equipment to ensure they are in good working condition.
Deliver services that meet or exceed customer expectations, resulting in positive feedback and repeat business.
Implement practices that minimize waste and enhance the sustainability of
Engage in training and development opportunities to enhance skills in landscaping techniques and use of new equipment or materials.



COMPETENCIES

Understanding of plant care, soil types, and gardening techniques to ensure healthy and attractive gardens.
Ability to perform physically demanding tasks over extended periods, often in varying weather conditions.
Keen eye for detail necessary to achieve precise and aesthetically pleasing landscaping results.
Knowledge of and adherence to safety protocols to prevent accidents and injuries on the job.
Ability to work effectively as part of a team, contributing to a cooperative work environment.
Proficiency in operating landscaping tools and machinery safely and effectively.
Skill in managing one's own time to ensure efficient completion of tasks.
Ability to interact professionally with clients, addressing their concerns and ensuring their satisfaction with the services provided.
Flexibility to adapt to new methods, changes in workload, or project specifications, and to work under pressure when necessary.



EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

We offer competitive pay based on experience, so prior experience in landscaping will be advantageous.



PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

The Landscape Laborer role requires working outdoors in various weather conditions and performing physically demanding tasks, including frequent lifting, carrying, digging, bending, and kneeling. This position involves operating hand tools, power equipment, and machinery while ensuring safety. The job requires the ability to lift up to 50 pounds, sustain extended periods of physical activity, and work on uneven terrain. Strength, endurance, and attention to detail are essential for completing planting, mulching, mowing, and other landscape maintenance or installation tasks efficiently.
