The position will analyze data to determine the location and correlation of faults to support real time operations and outage restoration utilizing various software tools and analysis methods. Additionally, this position will review and analyze the protection and control relay scheme performance for all operations to validate correct performance of the scheme. Deficiencies identified through analysis will require follow-up for resolution with the appropriate Asset Management, Engineering, and Relay Maintenance organizations.

The responsibilities also include knowing, applying and supporting compliance with North American Electric Reliability Corporation (NERC) standards for System Monitoring devices such as Digital Fault Recorders (DFRs), relay misoperations and Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) related issues. This position will support the organization by identifying and prioritizing work for the installation or replacement of related equipment including various Digital Fault Recorders (DFRs), Remote Terminal Units (RTUs) and Protection & Control (P&C) equipment. The incumbent will also assist with technical support to the Construction & Maintenance organization regarding relays, DFRs and associated communication devices.

Proficient in practices of researching engineering and design issues, evaluating alternatives, making sound recommendations and preparing and presenting recommendations.
