Overview

This position is responsible for the direction and oversight of the Company IT Applications. This position has a focus in financial and HCM applications. The leader is responsible for supervisory leadership, strategy implementation, and oversight in this area. A significant level of independent thought and action, based on extensive experience and sound judgment, is used to fulfill the position’s requirements.


The Leader, IT Applications will analyze, propose, oversee the development and implementation of, update and maintain, educate, and report on the effectiveness of strategies, processes, goals, and policies necessary to provide the support of various IT Applications. Management and prioritization of enhancements and day-to-day maintenance are key functions of this position. They will also maintain awareness of current technology and equipment advances through research, training, and participation in industry associations. The Leader oversees training programs to enhance skills and technical competence of personnel as well as represents department interests to other leaders, managers, and upper management as well as other duties as required and assigned.


Responsibilities


Leadership Specific:

Ensure alignment of department goals and activities with corporate Vision, Mission, goals, and strategies
Engage in regular, consistent performance management, including coaching, teaching, appraising, and mentoring
Execute staff growth plans


Position Specific:

Ensure knowledge transfer to team members
Coordinate and lead cross-functional project teams to successfully analyze, financially justify, initiate, plan, execute, and monitor continuous improvement
Coordinate with teams throughout the company to establish staffing and project plans for specific system enhancement projects
Assist with collecting customer requirements, defines and prioritizes projects to deliver results
Partner with internal customers (sales, customer service, engineering, finance, etc.) to analyze the business requirements and objectives needed to effectively maintain systems
Partner with external service providers to manage and prioritize issues and enhancements
Help to identify continuous improvement in processes and offers solutions to promote efficiency
Assess and oversee the ongoing departmental training needs related to enhancements and upgrades
Coordinate upgrade testing and deployments
Ensure that all levels of the business are informed and collaborating effectively on fixes, enhancements, and upgrades
Demonstrate excellent communication skills to receive and convey information clearly and effectively at all levels of the organization; provide consultative support to other departments
Perform employee performance appraisals and coach employees to gain efficiencies, to

prepare for added responsibilities and ensure succession planning is in place

Perform other duties as assigned


Qualifications


Minimum:

Bachelor’s degree in relevant field or equivalent experience
6+ years of experience in IT Applications or a related area
Ability to lead a technical team
Experience effectively communicating and reporting to the executive level
Ability to organize and lead multiple projects simultaneously
Ability to serve as a project lead and motivate teams to action
Strong communication skills
Strong problem-solving skills
Ability to research, understand, and make recommendations to improve applications
Ability to work and collaborate with others throughout the organization
Ability to budget and forecast expense and capital
Basic understanding of the regulatory environment in which the Company operates
Valid driver’s license and insurability

Preferred:

Master’s degree, or other advanced degree

Experience with ERP or HRIS software
Experience with Oracle Applications Cloud
PMP desirable
