Put Safety and Compliance first in every aspect of their day as a Devon Lease Operator . The Lease Operator, working under limited supervision, is responsible for leading operational assessments of assigned wells, equipment, and plant facilities and ensuring submission of daily assessment reports on well production, equipment performance, and other maintenance activities. The role leads production tests, monitors minor repairs, and ensures maintenance of organized work environment at lease sites. The role reviews operating parameters recorded into systems if Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) is unavailable, understands and executes on emergency response plans, partners with Engineer, Optimization Operator 3 & DSC/PA concerning wells and lease activities, and maintains regulatory, environmental, and safety compliance. The role participates in route reviews and KPI meetings, encourages cross training and “ride a longs” with other departments to be the catalyst for development and to broaden the individuals skill sets and spark interest for inner company moves, directly supports the optimization Operator 3s, and works under general supervision to perform complex operational tasks at lease sites, including developing and implementing SOPs, contributing to efficient operations, and ensuring safety protocols at lease sites.
• Leads operational assessments of assigned wells, equipment, and plant facilities and ensures submission of daily assessment reports on well production, equipment performance, and other maintenance activities.
• Leads production tests, monitors minor repairs, and ensures general upkeep (fences, signs, weeds, trash) and maintenance of organized work environment at lease sites.
• Maintains regulatory, environmental, and safety compliance in conjunction with and through close collaboration with the Operations Engineers, Superintendents, Foremen, and Environmental Health and Safety Department and leads training programs to enhance skills and knowledge in lease site operations, reports incidents, accidents, or near misses promptly.
• Reviews operating parameters recorded into systems if Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) is unavailable, develops understanding of operational issues at lease sites, and collaborates with maintenance teams to implement timely and effective solutions.
• Understands and executes on emergency response plans and participates in regular drills and training sessions so as to ensure the team is well-prepared to respond to incidents effectively.
• Champions a culture of safety excellence, supports incident investigations, root cause analyses, and the implementation of corrective actions.
• Utilizes cutting-edge remote monitoring technologies for real-time data analysis, predictive maintenance, and proactive decision-making, demonstrates proficiency and implements digital solutions to enhance operational reliability.
• Works under general supervision to perform complex operational tasks at lease sites, including developing and implementing SOPs, supporting Foremen on ORR and RTP processes and optimization operators, demonstrating strong understanding of importance of safety and regulatory compliance (especially around emissions and spills), and contributing to efficient operations.
• Develops and demonstrates clear knowledge and competency to all BU critical tasks and production equipment operations to support other teams in the field and maintains a field-wide contact role, serving as a point of communication for all personnel during emergencies or significant occurrences, ensuring effective response and coordination.
Education
• High School Diploma/General Education Diploma (GED) is required.
Experience
• 4+ years of relevant experience, preferably in E&P Operations specializing in areas such as Lease Site Management, Equipment Maintenance, and Pipeline Operations or a related field. Industry experience is preferred.
Certifications
• OSHA 30-Hour General Industry Certification (preferred)
