Responsibilities:


Position Summary

Viewed as an advanced Lease Operator, capable of handling most problems except those requiring engineering assistance. Works under very limited supervision to perform daily work duties and responsibilities. Uses critical thinking skills to analyze and solve complex problems and issues. Monitors, maintains, and reports the operation of wells and sites on an assigned route.


Primary Duties and Responsibilities

Make routine checks on all well sites according to schedule. Monitor production equipment including but not limited to compressors, pumpjacks, plunger lift, dehydrators, meters, separators, and safety devices; perform light maintenance on equipment as necessary to ensure all equipment is well maintained and operating safely. Inspect lease sites to ensure they are clean and free of debris and overgrown vegetation.

Inspects and maintains equipment on a routine basis.
Manage daily fluid production; gauge and record oil and water tank levels.
Gather daily, monthly, and quarterly data and submits all required reports and tickets by or before deadlines with little to no errors and/or missing information.
Analyze production related issues and work with foreman and any other relative personnel to troubleshoot and resolve.
Communicate regularly with production foreman on daily plans and issues; participate in periodic well reviews and safety meetings.
Works to optimize production in a safe, cost-effective manner.
Check for and address spills, fluid leaks, and trip hazards.
Participate in on-call rotation schedule which includes some nights and weekends.
Knowledge of company computer software associated with electronic measurement data collection, such as Cygnet, FDC and FlowCal.
Leads optimization of wells in their area with little or no supervision
Assist foremen with training new hires and other junior employees, assist with chart reviews, conduct employee ride-alongs, analyze and troubleshoot production related issues and work with employees and foremen to resolve.
Demonstrates competency in operating multiple types of artificial lift such as plunger lift, gas lift, conventional and submersible pumps, etc.


Job Requirements

Understand how equipment operates and is able to make most repairs without oversight required
Must have the ability to balance production of a route/field; assess inputs and outputs to determine potential line loss situations.
Understanding the reason for pressure differential across the system and well bore configuration to determine production optimization method.
The individual must be able to wear and properly utilize appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) to work or visit within areas where it is required. This includes hard hat, safety glasses, respirators, earplugs, steel-toed shoes, or other protective equipment as required by the location and work performed.
Visually seeing driving operations well (either naturally or with corrective lenses).
Familiar with differential controlled or time-based plunger lift systems; electric or gas/gasoline pumping units.
Able to read and interpret various types of meter charts.
Demonstrated technical aptitude to troubleshoot artificial lift systems and other mechanical issues.
Knowledge of company computer software associated with electronic measurement data collection, such as Cygnet, FDC and FlowCal.
The individual must be able to wear and properly utilize appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) to work or visit within areas where it is required. This includes hard hat, safety glasses, respirators, earplugs, steel-toed shoes, or other protective equipment as required by the location and work performed.
Visually seeing driving operations well (either naturally or with corrective lenses).
Able to walk, step, climb or otherwise move from one location on the job site to another.
Able to stand, stoop kneel, squat, climb and sit.
Ability to repetitively move feet, shoulders, arms, wrists, hands and back in performance of work.
Able to work at elevated heights.
Able to lift 50lb or more objects occasionally.
Able to carry 50lb or more objects occasionally.
Able to adapt to outdoor conditions and prolonged exposure to varying weather conditions.
Ability to remain calm during emergencies and respond appropriately as dictated by the circumstance of the incident.
Capable of trouble shooting and optimizing various lift systems.


Skills and Abilities

High School Diploma or equivalent.
Valid driver license.
Knowledge of and commitment to safety procedures and regulations.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team.
Willingness and ability to work in various weather and well site conditions.
Willingness and ability to work in physically demanding conditions.
Participate in on-call rotation schedule.
Ensure company provided vehicle is well maintained.
After hours emergency response if necessary
Other duties as assigned.
Although not required, the ideal person usually has at least five years of experience.
Is competent in area of operations processes such as returning wells to production (RTP), prestart up checks, blow down procedures, etc.
A leader on new programs and process implementations
A mentor to other lease operators and a valuable resource to foreman


Qualifications:


Position Requirements and Experience:

High school or higher level of education
A minimum of 5 years’ experience in the gas/oil industry.
Experience with well operations and volume optimization.
Basic computer skills (PowerPoint, Outlook, Word, Excel)
Excellent verbal communication skills, including the ability to interact with individuals at all levels within the organization.
Demonstrated ability to organize and interpret data, and to problem solve.

This includes hard hat, safety glasses, life vest, respirators, earplugs, steel-toed shoes, or other protective equipment as required by the work performed and location the work is being done
