Light-Duty/Non-Mobile Mechanic (Project Based) – AEQ Prudhoe Bay

JOB SUMMARY

The Light-Duty/Non-Mobile Mechanic is responsible for performing maintenance and repairs on light-duty vehicles and non-mobile construction support equipment directly from a service truck. This project-based role works closely with the Project General Foreman to service and repair a range of equipment, including light-duty pick-up trucks, medium-duty trucks, generators, light towers, mobile heaters, and similar assets. The Light-Duty/Non-Mobile Mechanic will also provide support to Heavy Equipment Mechanics and Oilers as needed to ensure optimal field operations and equipment readiness across the project site.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

· Inspect light vehicles and equipment to diagnose malfunctions.

· Repair light construction vehicles and equipment such as compressors, light plants, indirect-fired heaters, passenger vans, light duty pickup trucks, welding trucks, portable welders, medium duty service trucks, and other auxiliary equipment.

· Disassemble and assemble vehicles and equipment parts using hoists, hand tools, pneumatic and electric tools, and instruments.

· Perform routine maintenance on vehicles and equipment, including lubrication and oil changes in accordance with maintenance schedules.

· Operate vehicles and equipment to diagnose and ensure operating efficiency.

· Clean and maintain equipment, tools, and the general work area.

· Support AES zero-incident safety culture and assume personal accountability and responsibility for safe work practices in all projects, activities, and operations.

· Other duties will be assigned to this position as needed.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

· Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

· A High School Diploma or equivalent is required.

· A valid (U.S issued) Driver’s License is required.

· A North Slope Training Cooperative (NSTC) safety training certification is required.

· The ability to work 80.5 hours a week on a 3x3 rotation is required.

· At least three (3) years’ experience working in the equipment maintenance field or equivalent training in support of equipment repair is required.

· At least two (2) years' experience with GM diagnostic software is required.

· The ability to perform preventive maintenance, troubleshoot, and repairs on John Deere, Cummins, Isuzu, Kubota engines, Wacker & Allmand light plants, Tioga heaters, Ingersoll Rand & Sullair air compressors, Magnum, and MQ generators safely and proficiently required.

· Experience working on Genie aerial lifts is required.

· Proficiency in troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing Tier 4 after diesel exhaust treatment systems (Emissions systems) is required.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

· Three (3) or more years of experience working in the Oil and Gas industry, on the North Slope, and/or in Arctic Environment is preferred.

WORKING ON THE NORTH SLOPE

While working on the North Slope of Alaska, your lodging and food will be provided to you. All camps provide warm meals and options to grab a quick lunch or snack from the spike rooms. Rooms vary from single status to shared rooms where your roommate may work the opposite shift. Wi-Fi and Internet is free and available within the camp. Services vary depending upon where you are staying; however, most facilities offer housekeeping, self-serve laundry, commissary, mail, gyms, TV/Theater Room, etc. Each facility will have their own accommodations and policies that will be reviewed upon on-site orientation.
