The Logistics Dispatcher 1 is responsible for performing operational logistic requirements that support and maintain successful shipments for MS Directional LLC.
This position works under the direction of the Logistics Supervisor.
Description
•Coordinate and validate all deliveries using the Company’s Transportation Management System (TMS) to ensure timely routing of trucks, load pick up and drop off points, and generally scheduling of work
•Maintain required databases and logs of activities performed during shift
•Answer calls and respond to emails in a timely manner
•Validate and receive all deliveries using the Company TMS software
•Communicate and work effectively with shift opposite, particularly during handover
•Continuous computer work within various programs, regularly shifting attention to various types of visual equipment
•Make necessary time adjustments when dispatch times conflict with carrier times
•Add new loaders, carriers, and tools into TMS software, when required
•Coordinate with other team members to minimize unnecessary movements, over-ordered loads and ensure proper billing (i.e., customer paid trucking)
•Be a point of contact and assist with resolving schedule issues in partnership with management

•Willingness and ability to work long hours, extended shifts and weekends to include on-call rotation

Minimum Qualifications
•High School Diploma or GED
•Computer systems capable to include Microsoft Suite
Preferred Qualifications:
•Education/Experience in a role supporting logistics operations
Additional Details:
The Logistics Dispatcher 1 must work with an emphasis on individual safety and safety for others, including coworkers and third parties. Work is primarily in a climate controlled / office environment with minimal safety / health hazard potential. The employee is regularly required to sit, stand, or walk with occasional lifting (overhead, waist level) from floor, bending and frequent near vision use for reading and use of computer, telephone, and other office equipment.
