Primary Duties And Responsibilities

Maintains ALL shop equipment, large or small. Arrange and schedule contractors as needed for extensive repairs. Works with the Ops Mgr. to determine best solution based on extent and timeframe.
Building and grounds maintenance.
Develops and maintains scheduling for all equipment Preventative Maintenance. Familiar with working from PM software.
Responsible for all annual inspections required per OSHA. (Scheduling, reporting and follow ups)
Create and maintain all equipment files.
Make recommendations to improve shop equipment and procedures for maintenance program.
Daily inspections of forklifts, trucks, and overhead cranes. Quarterly inspection program for electrical shop tools, drop cords and lights.
Monthly inspections as required (i.e. Fire extinguishers).
Minor plumbing if necessary.
Maintain a clean and organized work area. 5S/6S.
Assists in environmental collections for 3 rd party analysis and reporting.
Manages the security fence/gate and codes.
Manages any 3 rd party contractors required for maintenance and repairs that cannot otherwise be completed in-house.
Schedule based on demand. May require weekend and evening work in event of urgency. The current standard work week is M-Th for 10 hours and Friday for 8 hours


Competencies

Minimum of 5 years of maintenance experience.
Self-starter and Team player, who is willing to do their job independently. Should be mature and able to stay focused on tasks without distractions.
Works well with other team members, but able to work on their own as well.
Strong electrical background is required. This position will be working on equipment with pendant controls, VFDs, relays, switches, motors, gearboxes, gear reducers, shafts, and bearings. Also, typical hand tools for a metal fabrication shop.
Working knowledge of hydraulic pumps and cylinders
Able to troubleshoot with a mechanical aptitude to be able to diagnose issues and repair equipment.
Familiar with welding equipment is a plus.
Able to organize, schedule and perform PMs on a variety of pieces of equipment.
Able to work with Maintenance Software (Maintain X), basic computer skills (Microsoft Suite: Outlook, Word, Excel, TEAMS)
Must have a valid driver’s license with a good driving record.
Able to drive a forklift.
