Your Opportunity at SECURE:

The Manager will be responsible for managing all aspects of rail derailment services, including response coordination, equipment deployment, and team leadership. Additionally, they will oversee facility operations, maintenance, and safety protocols to ensure optimal functionality and compliance.


The Team:

The Rail Services Team oversees and coordinates rail derailment emergency response and facility operations. In the event of a derailment, the team directs the deployment of response teams and equipment. They collaborate closely with external stakeholders, including emergency responders, regulatory agencies, and rail companies to ensure a unified and effective response to incidents.


Work Environment:

The role is accountable for leading cross-functional teams, identify integration opportunities, mitigate risks, and drive the execution of integration strategies to achieve strategic business objectives. This position requires 24/7 on call availability and a willingness to work in extreme weather conditions.


A Day in The Life:

The responsibilities of this role include, but are not limited to:


Rail Derailment Services:

Lead and coordinate emergency response activities for rail derailments, ensuring rapid and effective deployment of response teams and equipment.
Develop and maintain emergency response plans, protocols, and training programs to ensure readiness and compliance with regulatory standards.
Manage and monitor equipment inventory, maintenance schedules, and readiness checks to ensure operational readiness at all times.
Coordinate with external parties, such as emergency responders, regulatory authorities, and railroad companies, to facilitate collaborative response efforts.
Conduct regular training exercises to enhance team preparedness and response capabilities.
Analyze incident data, performance metrics, and lessons learned to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions as needed.
Stay updated on industry trends, best practices, and regulatory changes related to rail derailment response and emergency management.


Facility Management:

Oversee all aspects of facility operations, including maintenance, security and housekeeping, to ensure a safe and functional working environment.
Develop and implement facility maintenance plans, schedules, and budgets to ensure optimal performance and compliance with regulatory requirements.
Monitor and maintain facility safety protocols, including materials handling, and emergency evacuation procedures.
Conduct regular inspections, audits, and assessments to identify maintenance needs, safety hazards, and opportunities for improvement.
Collaborate with Senior Management to align facility operations with organizational goals, objectives, and strategic initiatives.


Transportation Manager

Manage Trucking division based on availability outside of ER response.
Arrange Trucking Services with Third party clients.
Establish priorities with Dispatcher Coordinator and Senior Rail Manager.
Optimize efficiencies within the Trucking Division.
Responsible for Safety and NSC Compliance.


Skills, Experience & Qualifications:


The individual in this role will have:

Minimum of 5 years of experience in emergency response management, with specific experience in rail derailment services, hazardous materials handling, or related fields is highly desirable.
Mechanical, engineering, or rail division operations experience is highly desirable.
Proven leadership skills with the ability to lead and motivate teams in high-stress and time-sensitive situations.
Strong knowledge of emergency response protocols, regulatory requirements, and best practices related to rail transportation, hazardous materials, and environmental safety.
Experience in facility management, including maintenance, safety compliance, and operational efficiency.
Familiarity with emergency response equipment, tools, and technologies commonly used in rail derailment incidents.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to effectively communicate with internal teams, external stakeholders, regulatory agencies, and clients.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make sound decisions under pressure and in rapidly changing environments.
Proven track record of successfully managing projects, budgets, and resources to achieve desired outcomes.
Ability to handle projects with multiple workstreams, with proven leadership success over a wide variety of functional business problems and with multiple stakeholders at both senior and junior levels.
Proficiency in computer applications, including Microsoft Office Suite and industry-specific software for emergency response planning, incident reporting, and data analysis.
