Job Overview:

The Manufacturing Production Planner will be responsible for coordinating and optimizing the production process within our metal fabrication department. This role will involve developing production schedules, ensuring resource availability, and maintaining workflow efficiency. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in metal fabrication processes, along with excellent organizational and problem-solving skills.


Key Responsibilities:

Production Planning: Develop and maintain detailed production schedules to meet customer orders, deadlines, and internal requirements. Ensure timely production while minimizing downtime and maintaining efficient use of resources.

Material Planning: Work closely with the procurement team to ensure the timely delivery of materials required for fabrication, including sheet metal, welding rods, and other metalworking components.
Workforce Coordination: Collaborate with Production Manager to allocate labor efficiently, ensuring that the right personnel with the appropriate skill sets are scheduled for fabrication tasks.
Process Optimization: Continuously evaluate and recommend improvements to production processes, materials usage, and workflow to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and improve quality.
Inventory Control: Maintain accurate inventory levels of raw materials, tools, and finished products, ensuring that the materials required for production are always available while minimizing overstock and waste.
Cross-Functional Communication: Serve as the main point of contact between the production, engineering, and logistics teams to resolve any issues related to production schedules or material availability.
Compliance & Safety: Ensure that all production activities comply with industry standards, quality requirements, and safety regulations, particularly in the handling and processing of metals.


Skills and Qualifications:

Experience in Metal Fabrication: At least 3-5 years of experience in production planning or operations within the metal fabrication industry, including knowledge of welding, machining, and sheet metal operations.
Production Planning Expertise: Strong understanding of production scheduling, work order management, and resource allocation in a manufacturing environment.
Technical Knowledge: Familiarity with fabrication processes such as laser cutting, CNC machining, welding, bending, and assembly in the metalworking industry.
Problem-Solving Abilities: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to handle production delays, material shortages, or equipment failures.
Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members, vendors, and management.
Attention to Detail: High level of accuracy and attention to detail when reviewing production data, schedules, and inventory.
Educational Requirements: High School Diploma Required, bachelor’s degree preferred, Degree in engineering or a related field is preferred. Equivalent work experience in metal fabrication may be considered in lieu of a degree.

Pay: From $22.00 per hour
