Position Description
The Marketing Communications Specialist is responsible for developing and executing impactful marketing and communication initiatives that align with organizational goals. This is a dynamic role that requires excellent communication skills, a strong understanding of various marketing channels, and proficiency in managing multiple projects. Responsibilities include creating compelling content, managing promotional materials, and ensuring consistency across channels to effectively engage both internal and external audiences.
Essential Job Functions
•Develop engaging content for social media, digital platforms, and other marketing materials that aligns with brand guidelines and resonates with customer audiences.
•Manage the publishing and distribution of content across company website, social media channels, and other digital platforms, ensuring consistency, optimization, and audience engagement.
•Develop, implement, and program manage corporate-level internal communications strategies, messaging, and collateral (written and visual) to support key business objectives, long-term goals, special projects, and general company needs.
•Partner with internal stakeholders on Associate experience insights and opportunities to inform the development and deployment of internal communications materials (including but not limited to newsletters, presentations, emails, intranet content, etc.) that connect internal and external talent audiences to Sigma’s priorities and culture.
•Communicate clearly, consistently, and accurately across a variety of channels, ensuring messaging aligns with the company’s branding and messaging standards.
•Manage multiple marketing projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines while maintaining high-quality standards.
•Create, refine, and oversee the production of promotional assets, including brochures, presentations, and newsletters, for both print and digital formats.
•Assist in planning and executing events, trade shows, and promotional activities, including logistical coordination and on-site support.
•Monitor, analyze, and report on the effectiveness of marketing communications and channels, offering insights and recommendations for improvement.
•Conduct basic market research and audience analysis to inform communication strategies and refine messaging.
•Work closely with internal teams and external vendors to ensure cohesive execution of marketing initiatives.
•Identify and implement new tools, platforms, and processes to optimize marketing efforts and increase efficiency.
•Other duties as assigned.
Requirements:
Education/Experience Requirements
•Education: Associate degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
•Experience: 1 or more years of experience supporting information technology services
•Basic networking understanding.
•Familiarity with cloud computing.
•Exposure to Cyber Security Best Practices.
•Excellent written and oral communication skills.
•Analytical and problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve basic technical problems on desktop/laptop/mobile devices.
•Ability to think critically and adapt to changing situations.
•Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
•Strong skills in Microsoft applications, especially Word, Excel, Outlook
•Strong self-motivation with the ability to work independently.
•Flexibility to work overtime and weekends as requested and needed.
•Dependable transportation and valid driver’s license and insurance.
•Able to pass a background check/drug test/driving record check.
•Authorized to work in the United States
Physical Requirements:
•Education: Associate's Degree or higher is required. A Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications or related field is highly preferred. Management will consider an equivalent combination of education and experience.
•Experience: 3 years’ experience in marketing and corporate communications
•Basic networking understanding.
•Strong project management skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
•Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
•Creative thinking and problem-solving abilities.
•Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
•Willing to travel overnight as needed.
•Available to work in person during the “core” work hours of 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. during the week. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as duties demand.
•Strong skills in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
•Proficient in Adobe Illustrator, Canva, or similar graphic design and publishing tools for creating marketing materials, presentations, and branded content.
•Knowledge of WordPress for publishing and optimizing blog posts, landing pages, and other digital assets.
•Flexibility to work overtime and weekends as requested and needed.
•Dependable transportation and valid driver’s license and insurance.
•Able to pass a background check/drug test/driving record check.
•Authorized to work in the United States
