Capable of identifying the type of application and operating systems required to perform visual inspections and diagnosis for troubleshoot resolution and performing general and preventative maintenance on a variety of equipment typical to quarry and production plant environments. Equipment includes but is not restrictive to dump trucks, excavators, dozers, front-end Loaders, forklifts, graders, tractor & trailers, and pick-up trucks, etc.
Pay range based on experience level: $34.47 - $39.42 per hour.
Possesses working knowledge of equipment components includes, but not limited to:
Air Supply and Auxiliary Air Systems and all components
• Clutch systems, manual transmissions/transfer cases, torque converters, lock-up clutches, powershift transmissions, powershift transmission electrical, electronic controls, hydrostatic transmissions, and all components
Drive Shafts, Drive Axle Assemblies and Final Drives
• Drive shafts, drive axle assemblies, final drives and all components
Earth Moving Equipment, attachments and components Engine Systems:
• Cooling systems, engine lubricating systems, fuel delivery systems, cylinder heads, engine blocks and all components
• Fuel control systems, mechanically and electronically controlled diesel engine tune-ups and all components
• Exhaust, intake systems, turbocharger/blower systems, emission control systems and all components
• Batteries, starting systems, charging systems, electrical and electronically controlled systems and all components
Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning Systems and all components Hydraulic Systems
• Mechanically actuated hydraulic systems, pilot/pneumatic pressure-actuated hydraulic systems, electrically and electrically controlled hydraulic systems, and all components
• Steering systems, steering clutches/brakes, braking Systems, mechanical/hydraulic braking and air braking systems and all components
Tires, Wheels, Frames and Undercarriages and all components
• Set up and operate electric welding equipment, gas welding and cutting equipment
• Read, interpret and apply all applicable welding symbols
• Must be able to use Caterpillar S.I.S. to diagnose and order parts
• Read & Use operator’s manuals and fill out simple reports such as pre-shift inspection forms
• Carry out simple oral & written instructions & deal with simple problems from standardized situations
• Safely meet the supervisor’s standards of performance
• Safely fill in as needed during vacation, absences, and increased production demands
• Safely replace or assist other workers as needed
• Safely perform other tasks as assigned by supervision or designated lead person
