This job can be filled at the third or fourth level of the non-Engineer degreed engineering technologist job classification. This position is preferably located at McGuire Nuclear Station (Huntersville, NC).

Nuclear Engineering Technologist III provide technical expertise to solve more complex problems and leadership skills to provide oversight and direction of work in a specific area of expertise, with some supervision. Incumbents are expected to develop advanced skills and the ability to work with a high degree of independence.

Senior Engineering Technologist provide technical expertise to solve more complex problems, and leadership skills to manage work in a specific area of expertise, with minimal supervision. Incumbents are expected to develop advanced skills and to have the ability to work independently with increased latitude for unreviewed work.

Basic/Required Qualifications:Nuclear Engineering Technologist III* Bachelor’s degree in Engineering Technology (or equivalent) with a minimum of three years of related experience

Senior Nuclear Engineering Technologist* Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering Technology and a minimum of three either of related experience

Additional Preferred Qualifications* Previous Engineering Technologist experience supporting Duke Nuclear stations.

Specific Requirements* Able to achieve nuclear site access.

Working Conditions* The working environment consists of on-site work at a metallurgical laboratory and radiological processing facility. with an accompanying radiological hot cell for contaminated metallurgical samples.
