Lead and develop the Operations and Engineering organization related to EHS, efficiency, scalability as well as align with Sandvik core values and leadership values. Drive the strategic agenda for Operations and Engineering as well as ensuring efficient execution of daily operations. Strike a balance between cost, capital efficiency and customer service levels. Accountable for developing, monitoring and delivering on Operations and Engineering KPIs
Primary Area Of Responsibility
Operations
•The Operations & Engineering Manager is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Cleveland Production Unit, ensuring that business processes run smoothly and efficiently.
•Represent operations in the entity management team and ensure operations are enabling meeting business objectives and delivery expectations
•Lead and mentor a team of operations staff, providing guidance, support, and training to ensure high performance and professional development.
•Responsible for ensuring time efficient, cost efficient and capital efficient operations with a readiness for scaling up outputs
•Responsible for ensuring a robustness in operations through cross training for key operations
•Responsible for developing and driving the EHS agenda in cooperation with the EHS generalist or appointed person
•Coordinate operations activities with global Operations team
•Responsible for end-to-end supply chain management and logistics to ensure seamless planning
•Develop operational excellence strategy aiming to improve end-to-end lead-time, accuracy, quality, cost and capital efficiency
•Execute project-based initiatives to meet strategic goals based on established methodologies such as Lean and Six Sigma
•Implement Kaizen continuous improvement program
•Performance management: establish and follow up all operational metrics to ensure efficient execution of operational excellence strategy
•Ensure that efficient IT infrastructure is in place to enable an efficient supply chain.
Engineering
•Product ownership of the plate compactor attachments and the attachment brackets/quick couplers
•Execute engineer to order customer orders
•New product development and continuous product improvement
•Maintain up-to-date technical information for the organization
•Lead time of engineers and coordinate with global product management/R&D
Required Qualifications
•In-depth understanding of all aspects of industrial operations (steel fabrication, machining, warehousing, logistics, planning,operations development)
•Ability to develop and implement an operations strategy as well as balance the daily operations
•Strong technical understanding
•Proven leadership and management skills
•Excellent stakeholder management skills and high integrity. Able to efficiently cooperate, drive a change agenda and achieve results across all levels of organization
•It savvy with ability to adopt and implement digital solutions and robotization
•Structured with an ability to develop and implement processes & systems
Experience
•5+ years’ experience in an Operations leadership role
•Proven management and leadership with the ability to lead and develop a diverse team.
•Experience of the industrial goods sector
•Proven track record of establishing sustainable processes and tangible results
•Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
•Proficiency in operational software and tools.
•Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
Education
Relevant Bachelors, or Master’s degree or equivalent acquired competence
