About This Job

Who We Are Looking For

Rheaume Engineering Inc. (Rheaume) is seeking a full-time Engineering Manager

to join our team. This position would be based in either our Grande Prairie or Calgary office.

Who We Are

Rheaume is an Alberta-based EPC (engineering, procurement, and construction management) firm, founded in 2005, with 40 staff members.

For engineering projects in industry sectors such as energy, mining, pulp & paper, and agriculture, Rheaume provides services in:

• Project management and project controls

• Design work within the following disciplines:

Process

Mechanical
Civil
Structural
Electrical
Instrumentation
Controls

• Procurement

• Regulatory support

• Construction management/support

Rheaume’s specialty is oil & gas facility and pipeline design.

Rheaume has built a reputation around quality engineering and fit-for-purpose solutions. Our success is based on a solid foundation of engineering, and we have the skill set to manage, design, construct, and commission projects of all sizes.

On our projects, we endeavor to provide:

• A clear, repeatable, and detailed engineering execution plan

• An experienced, talented, and cost-effective project team

• The implementation, tracking, and reporting of key measurements of performance

This enables us to deliver engineering projects that start quickly, meet tight deadlines, and adapt to changes in project scope with minimal disruption.

Having offices in Calgary and Grande Prairie allows us to maximize our engagement with field operations and sets us apart within the industry.

As a company, we strive to participate in projects where innovative designs are safely and efficiently executed. As a service company, we must provide our clients with a better experience than other EPCs in order to succeed.

What Makes Rheaume Different

• We seek to employ and work with individuals who possess both personal character and technical ability

• We expect our staff to conduct themselves as technical professionals who can manage their own time, and in return we provide flexibility in office hours, working from home, and vacation time

Role Description

• Be part of the hiring process: identifying resource gaps, reviewing resumes, and interviewing candidates

• Manage engineering tasks and resources, including assigning work

• Review of engineering estimates for client proposals

• Act as the primary technical resource within the company: you don’t have to have all the answers, but you must be able to help solve problems

• Be a Responsible Member of the company:

Ensure the proper engineering reviews and approvals are in place
Validate engineering deliverables

• Mentor engineering staff

The above tasks are expected to take approximately half of your time. The other half of your time will be dedicated to project or technical work based on your design discipline.

It is expected that you’ll visit our other office location at least once per quarter to continually better your relationship with staff.

Who We Are Looking For

• Bring a positive attitude and strong work ethic to the workplace

• Great communicator:

Well spoken
Elite technical writing

• Self-motivated:

Start and complete assigned work without expediting
Ask others if they need assistance with tasks/projects
Don’t spin wheels when stuck, ask for guidance (but bring suggested solutions)

Accountable:

Take responsibility for your work and complete it on-time and on-budget
Look for and communicates potential corporate/project improvement
Acknowledge missteps and move forward

• Take pride in your work and ensure work is produced to the best of your ability

• Detail orientated:

Able to find mistakes in your own and other’s work
Ensure that mistakes are not repeated

Organized: effectively manage time to prioritize and complete tasks on-time and on-budget

• Adaptable to fluctuating hours and workload, driven by project needs

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office products

Candidate Requirements

• Must be currently residing in Alberta, Canada.

• Must have 8+ years of conventional oil and gas project experience at an EPC based in Western Canada

• Must have P. Eng. with APEGA

Compensation

• Either employee or contractor status may be considered for this role

• Rheaume has a competitive, multi-faceted compensation plan including:

Competitive hourly rate based on education and experience
Yearly performance and wage reviews
Health, dental, and disability benefits
RRSP matching
Employee, client, and project referral program
Other incentive and bonus programs

Application Deadline

This job opportunity will remain open until a suitable candidate is recruited. Only those individuals selected for an interview will be contacted. Please email your resume to careers@rheaumeengineering.com.
