THE POSITION
Keyera is currently seeking a Gas Plant Operator / Board Operator for our Brazeau River Gas Plant near Drayton Valley, Alberta. This exciting role will support the day to day operations of the plant, troubleshooting, optimization and tuning of the plant’s processes. The shift is 7 on 7 off and is a camp role.
RESPONSIBILITIES* Assist with daily operations of the Brazeau River Gas Plant.
•Responsible for daily operating assignments on plant equipment and processes.
•Operate the facility in a safe, economical and efficient manner using quality principals.
•Work with team on preventative maintenance and ensure equipment is running efficiently and safely.
•Monitor facility readings, product sampling and quality control.
•Support the maintenance team (plowing snow, safety watch, etc.).
•Assist with contractor orientation and supervision for on site operations.
•Participate in review, modification or development of facility procedures.
•Support engineering and maintenance teams with various projects.
•Support Operational Excellence and Asset Management Reliability initiatives.
•Seek improvements and develop plans to remedy process upsets and reliability challenges.
•Assist in the execution of projects as needed.
QUALIFICATIONS* Strong team player with the ability to listen, learn and share knowledge.
•Self starter who is able to work independently with a minimum of supervision.
•Minimum five (5) years’ experience in a similar role within sour gas plant operations is preferred.
•Able to demonstrate deep understanding of theoretical and actual plant processes (fractionation, amine systems, refrigeration, condensate stabilization, etc.).
•Fourth Class inter provincial steam ticket or Fired Process Heater Operator ticket is preferred.
•Strong commitment to Health, Safety and the Environment.
•Demonstrate diligence in following processes and procedures.
•Follow through on commitments as an engaged contributor.
•Actively guard against complacency and challenge the status quo.
•Possess proven communication, problem solving and decision making skills.
•Highly organized, reliable individual with attention to detail.
•Valid H2S Alive, WHMIS, TDG and First Aid Certificates would be an asset.
