Job Description
Following AltaGas' safe work practices and EHS policies, the Operator Trainee will perform tasks under the direct supervision of qualified Operations personnel at the Ferndale Terminal. The Trainee will progress towards qualification for the Operator 4 position, supporting rail and truck unloading/loading operations. Eventually, the Trainee will qualify for the Operator 3 position, handling high-pressure storage and pipeline operations.
This is a unionized position represented by Teamsters Local 231.
Tasks and Responsibilities* Follow all safety protocols, especially around rail equipment and LPG.Qualifications, Skills, and Abilities Required:* High School Diploma or GED.
Preferred:* 1+ years of experience as a process operator or maintenance technician in a marine terminal, refinery, industrial, or plant process setting.
Working Conditions/Requirements* Prioritize safety at all times.
Information for Applicants* This position works a 12-hour rotating shift schedule, including days, nights, weekends, and holidays.
The hourly rate for this role is $34.45 per hour, per the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
