Role and Responsibilities
Reporting to Plant Management, the Packing Lead supervises and directs the activities of the Packing Department to ensure that customers’ orders are processed to specification in the most efficient, timely and economical manner.
The PACKING LEAD serves the organization in 3 key areas:
•Plans and schedules for the department's daily activities in conjunction with Master Scheduler.
•Monitors operations closely for purposes of suggesting operational improvements.
•Monitors packaging closely to ensure that parts being processed are to customer specification, including proper piece counts and labeling.
Essential Duties and responsibilities:
•Utilizing the production dispatch report give directions to the packing department staff
•Work with plant material handlers to ensure that appropriate material is moved to the correct location for further processing
•Ensures that heat treat oven lines are cleared off in a timely manner
•Develop processes to ensure packing uptime is maximized and that ancillary operations are combined to increase throughput
•Ensures that material is labeled appropriately and documented in the ERP system
•Reviews and Approves employee timecards
•Reviews future workload and plans for staffing in conjunction with plant management
•The work office is in a factory utilizing tablets
•Some duties are performed in a loud and uncontrolled environment (production setting) subject to extreme temperatures.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
•Experience in manufacturing with a focus on packaging, kitting, assembly, and final shipment
•Must also demonstrate excellent leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills to effectually guide the packing team and collaborate with other department leaders.
•Ability to manage multiple jobs/operations simultaneously.
•Strong communication skills.
•A self-starter, ability to work with limited supervision
•Ability to work in a team environment.
There are 3 different shifts that we are looking for
The work schedule is typical Monday-Friday with weekend availability to ensure customer requirements are met.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $40,000.00 - $50,000.00 per year
