Position Overview

This position interacts with FortisBC, contractors, consultants, property owners and the public with respect to proactively preventing damage to FortisBC High Pressure pipelines and assets. This position ensures adherence to work permits and helps monitor for encroachments, unauthorized activities on rights of way and in road allowances to ensure public and worker safety, pipeline integrity and reliability.

Responsibilities

+ Responsible for ensuring compliance with permit requirements, standards, and safety regulations for work around FortisBC high-pressure assets. + Respond to assigned BC 1 Calls. + Follow established guidelines and procedures, in compliance with standards and safety regulations, to locate FortisBC high pressure pipelines and assets, which requires the use of maps and locating equipment. + Responsible for preparing and issuing stop work orders related to unauthorized work or work that is not compliant with permits.
