We are seeking an entry-level Procurement Clerk to support our Procurement Department in managing end-to-end purchasing processes, supplier relationships, and logistics operations. This role requires a detail-oriented and highly organized professional who can handle purchasing activities, negotiate with vendors, track shipments, and ensure timely order fulfillment. Due to the nature of our operations, the candidate must be available for frequent travel outside Houston, including occasional weekends, and be available by phone for urgent matters.
Key Responsibilities:
•Manage the procurement cycle, from issuing purchase orders to verifying on-time deliveries.
•Implement purchasing strategies to optimize cost, quality, and delivery efficiency.
•Ensure all purchase orders and reports are accurately recorded and updated in the system.
•Source, evaluate, and negotiate with vendors to establish reliable and cost-effective supplier partnerships.
•Secure and analyze quotations, negotiate contracts, and recommend suppliers based on business needs.
•Maintain strong relationships with suppliers through periodic visits and performance assessments.
•Coordinate international shipments from suppliers to company facilities.
•Monitor and manage the shipment process, ensuring timely and accurate deliveries.
•Work together with the Accounts Payable Department to resolve invoice discrepancies and vendor payment issues.
•Handle equipment/material pickups and deliveries as required.
•Manage hotel reservations, including occasional weekend bookings.
•Be available for frequent travel, including some weekends and responsive to urgent matters over the phone during weekends as needed.
•Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Requirements & Qualifications:
Education & Experience:
•Associate's or Bachelor's degree in procurement, supply chain, logistics or a related field (preferably in the oil & gas or manufacturing industry).
Technical Skills:
•Strong negotiation, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
•Ability to analyze market trends, pricing, and supplier performance.
•Proficiency in procurement and inventory management software is a plus.
•Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with internal teams and external vendors.

•Willingness to travel frequently, including occasional weekend trips.
