Job Summary

The Project Controls Lead will be responsible for overseeing and managing all aspects of project controls for our projects, from initiation to completion. This role ensures that projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget. The Project Control Lead will work under the direction of the project manager in collaboration with discipline managers, engineers, contractors, and other stakeholders to control the project scope, budget, and schedule.



General Duties/Responsibilities

Scope Control and Change Management:

+ Monitor project contract and scope of work (SOW) to identify and control scope creep and project change. + Coordinate with project teams, clients, and contractors to communicate the implications of changes and secure approvals. + Ensure that all changes are consistent with project goals, contractual obligations, and regulatory requirements. + Track and report on the status of change requests, ensuring that they are resolved in a timely and efficient manner. + Maintain project change log and complete requisite change orders for approval of the project manager.

Cost & Budget Control:
+ Monitor and control project budgets, monitor costs, and track expenditures to ensure financial targets are met. + Provide cost analysis and forecast updates for the project and provide regular financial reporting to stakeholders. + Recommend cost-saving initiatives and identify opportunities for efficiency improvements.
Project Schedule Control:
+ Maintain project schedules for Engineering and EPC Projects. + Monitor project progress and adjust timelines as necessary to meet project goals and milestones. + Work with project teams to ensure timely completion of deliverables and manage dependencies.
Performance Monitoring & Analysis:
+ Prepare regular reports to senior management detailing project progress, financial status, and potential risks. + Monitor and assess the performance of the internal team, contractors and vendors, ensuring adherence to contractual obligations. + Analyze variances between planned and actual project performance. + Implement and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to gauge project success. + Participate in project meetings and provide expert input regarding the status of project controls.
Documentation & Compliance:
+ Ensure proper documentation and record-keeping of all project control activities. + Ensure adherence to safety, quality, and regulatory standards throughout the project lifecycle. + Contribute to lessons-learned sessions and best practices within the organization.

Required Skills/Abilities

Strong knowledge of LNG project lifecycle and specific industry challenges.
Expertise in project control principles, including scheduling, cost management, and risk management.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and project control software.
Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to interface with clients, contractors, and senior management.
Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
Experience in engineering contracting and EPC project execution (preferred)
Field experience including construction, commissioning, start-up, and operational support (beneficial)
International experience (beneficial)
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment while maintaining attention to detail.


Education and Experience

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or a related field.
Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in project controls, with at least 5 years in the LNG or energy industry.
Strong experience in project scheduling, cost control, and risk management for large-scale projects.
Experience working with project management software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project, or equivalent).
Certifications (preferred):
+ PMP (Project Management Professional) or equivalent certification. + Primavera P6 or other project management software certifications.


Work Environment

This role is performed in a professional office environment.
This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as laptop computers and smartphones.
Occasional extended working hours to meet project deadlines.



Physical Requirements

Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at a time.
Must be able to travel to various job sites and locations to obtain necessary data and conduct site visits.

Current authorization to work within the United States is required. Immigration or work visa sponsorship will not be provided.
