About This Job

Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Purchasing Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in for maintaining and monitoring inventory levels, processing purchase orders, coordinating material deliveries, and supporting dispatch and facilities operations. This position requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively with various departments.

Purchasing & Inventory

•

Assist with maintaining accurate inventory levels of materials and equipment.

•

Issue, receive, and track purchase orders using enterprise software.

•

Verify deliveries, confirm packing slips, and resolve discrepancies.

•

Monitor inventory of office supplies and reorder as needed.

•

Assist with bid documentation and vendor communications.

•

Track shipments, returns, and backorders.

Facilities & Operations Support

•

Assist with facility and fleet maintenance tracking.

•

Help evaluate new products and services.

•

Support the sale of obsolete inventory and equipment.

•

Coordinate shipments and maintain related records.

Dispatching & Communication

•

Monitor outage management systems and communicate outage status.

•

Serve as a liaison between line crews, the Cooperative, and emergency responders.

•

Use two-way radios and digital tools to support field operations.

Reporting

•

Prepare and maintain reports on purchasing activity, inventory, and fleet usage.

Requirements

•

Associate's degree in Business, Supply Chain, or related field required.

•

2-3 years of office or purchasing experience prefrred.

•

Proficient in Microsoft (Word, Excel, Adobe)

•

Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.

•

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with vendors and internal teams.

•

Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.00 - $26.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40 per week
