Job Dimensions:
•Oversee the mining, loading and hauling of crude kaolin assuring that the appropriate quantity and quality of crude clay is delivered to the Washington County Mine operations in a safe, timely and efficient manner.
•Supervisory responsibility for the safe and efficient operation of the Washington County Mine milling/degritting facility.
•Supervisory responsibility for approximately 18 direct report employees.
•Monitor and operate wastewater treatment systems and coordinate releases in accordance with Georgia EPD regulatory requirements and NPDES permits.
Key Principal Accountabilities:
•Supports KaMin's strategy, objectives and annual operating plan by developing and directing the implementation of short to long range objectives for Washington County Mine operations.
•Optimizes recovery and yield of mineable reserves by developing and implementing continuous improvement efforts for operational excellence and sustainability.
•Evaluate crude hauling needs, grade clay based on stockpile guidelines, schedule crude clay hauls, verify crude quality and develop blend for milled products. Verify WIP quality of milled products and adjust as needed to meet customer specifications.
•Ensures cost effective mine operations by providing complete, accurate and timely reporting of productivity measures and costs associated with all mining and milling activities.
•Promotes KaMin vision, principles, and the desired culture by developing the skills and leadership competencies of mining personnel, and by creating a working environment that fosters motivation.
Competencies:
•5-10 years of mining or manufacturing experience
•Knowledge of surface mining operations, processing equipment, heavy equipment, quality procedures.
•Working knowledge of MSHA regulatory requirements.
•Minimum of 2 years supervisory experience in mining, manufacturing or heavy construction.
•Proficient with Microsoft Office software.
•Experience with WonderWare, Oracle, TabWare, and UKG payroll systems preferred.
