About This Job

The Quality Engineer position is responsible for assuring compliance to the corporate quality assurance system and customer specific requirements, as part of a team that promotes customer satisfaction, which positively impacts the financial performance of the company. Champion continuous improvement efforts and defect reduction initiatives to assure an effective Quality Management System (QMS).

Performs advanced quality assurance assignments and projects; participates in new model’s development process; performs Quality Management System documentation activities.

2. Responsible for selection of special characteristics, and related training.

3. Responsible for coordinating quality related activities within the company, including corrective and preventive action.

4. Coordinate company activities for the resolution of customer complaints.

5. Attend meetings at customer locations to resolve quality related issues.


6. Maintains direct communication with customer contacts.

Develops product/process procedures including development of performance metrics.
Performs layouts, reads and understands geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)
Should be able to perform scrap analysis and participate in the continuous improvement activities for scrap reduction.
Serve as a liaison between the suppliers and 2A USA in quality activities.
Leads problem solving teams; identifies root causes, implements corrective actions, and verifies effectiveness

12. Prepares and maintains corrective and preventive actions for customer complaints.

13. Follows PPAP submissions and various test sample runs.

14. Monitors PPM performance versus objectives, provide insights and data analysis to company for defect resolution.

15. Reviews and analyzes product returned from customers.

16. Review and disposition customer financial charge backs.

17. Prepares and up-dates Process flow charts, Control Plans, PFMEA.

18. Provides support to inspectors and technicians for quality related issues.

19. Monitors and communicates customer quality related procedures.

20. Generate Quality Assurance Department procedures and work instructions and train associates upon deployment.

21. Investigate, conducts cost-benefit analysis and proposes department investments for continuous improvement.


22. Measure and monitor customer satisfaction.

23. Maintain adherence to company policies and safety standards.

24. Awareness of and assure compliance to customer specific requirements.

25. Assures that training and development needs are identified and programs initiated.

26. Function as Quality Manager as needed in his/her absence

Required Competencies/Qualifications

Extensive technical knowledge and background of quality and manufacturing processes including geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T), layout and gagging; machining methods and assembly processes as well as statistical process control (SPC) and statistical techniques
Extensive knowledge of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) tools including control plans and Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA)
Strong analytical, problem solving and project management skills
Strong time management, prioritization, organizational and planning skills
Demonstrated ability to work with individually or in a team environment as well as the ability to help mentor less experienced team members
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, for interacting with diverse groups of internal teams at 2A Italy, customers and suppliers.
Ability to lift parts up to 50lbs if required and help Quality technicians as per need in case of necessity.

8. Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel, and Power Point.

9. Proven knowledge of Statistical techniques, data collection and analysis for problem resolution, and of brainstorming techniques (5Why, Fishbone, etc)

10. Good knowledge of AIAG PPAP, APQP, and automotive industry procedures


11. CMM Programming is a plus.

12. High Pressure Die Casting and CNC knowledge is a plus.


Work Environment

This job operates in a clerical, office, as well as a factory setting. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to odors, fumes, dust or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud.

Position Type and Expected Hours of WorkThis is a full-time position, and typical work hours and days are Monday through Friday, 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand. Ability to lift 25-50 lbs.

TravelTravel is primarily local during the business day, although some out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be expected.


Preferred Education and Experience

1. Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering or equivalent number of years of experience.

Three(3) years of experience in Quality Assurance/Quality Control, with three (2) years as a CQE in a mass production, manufacturing environment.
