Job Description
Reporting to the Quality Manager, the Quality Management System (QMS) Specialist will learn, lead, and own all aspects of the Newnan Plant QMS and auditing functions to include associated reporting. The QMS Specialist will ensure the plant stays in compliance with ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 to include all supporting processes, documentation, internal audits, and external audits. This position is key in supporting our culture of continuous improvement.
Essential Duties And Responsibilities Include•Manage and ensure ISO 9001 and IATF 16949 documents (QMS) as required to maintain certification and successfully complete internal and external audits.
•Own the document control system to include revisions, reviews, and approvals.
•Lead the internal audit process to ensure it remains effective and up to date.
•Train and participate in all auditing requirements (process, product, and LPA).
•Assure key performance indicators are clearly defined with measurable objectives aligned with the QMS.
•Maintain the corrective action system to assure timely completion of actions and effectiveness of solution.
•Manage and maintain the layered process audit process and system.
•Facilitate teams in the use of quality tools and QMS processes.
•Manage the creation, review, and revision of PFMEAs
•Oversee the calibration process to assure all required items are calibrated as scheduled.
•Assist Quality Manager in preparation of the QMS review meetings.
•Create weekly, monthly, and annual reports as required.
•Other tasks and projects as assigned to support the success of the plant.
Required Education/Experience
•Bachelor's Degree (preferably in an engineering or quality related field) or a minimum of 4 years of experience in a similar role
•Metals industry experience preferred
•Effective verbal and written communication skills
•ERP experience – preferably with J.D. Edwards or Oracle
•Proficient in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and Word)
•Lean Manufacturing and/or Lean Six Sigma exposure – Green Belt preferred
