The Quality Technician (3D Scanning) is responsible for operating the Metra Scan ball and Handy Probe allowing 3D scanning capabilities for daily operations. Using a handheld metrology grade 3D scanner, along with portable 3D measurement probing, you are able to provide accurate 3D scanning, reverse engineering, and inspection services in a timely manner. Position is responsible for maintaining calibration schedules, utilizing necessary 3D measurement tool(s), and preparing data for delivery of inspection outputs and assisting with reverse engineering projects.

· Technical or Associated degree in Engineering Technology / CAD Drafting & Design Technology (or related field) or equivalent technical / job experience
· Ability to read a manufacturing print and identify key components including units, basic tolerances, dimensions, datum structure, etc.
· Experience using a variety of measuring tools, including tape measure, calipers, micrometers, pin gauges, thread gauges etc.
· Ability to interpret engineering requirements, verify recommended solutions, and apply in a timely manner
· Understanding basic use of what, when, and how a measuring device is needed for the job
· Experience with 3D CAD modeling software (Polyworks & VX Elements preferred)
This job operates equally in a professional office and manufacturing environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as: computer, phone, copier/printer, filing cabinet, fax machine. Must be able to operate a computer and communicate with coworkers regularly. While performing these job duties, you may be exposed to loud noise, fumes and airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. Employee is exposed to moderate temperature changed during the shift.
