Title: Refinery Chemist - Asphalt

The Opportunity

An Asphalt Binder Chemist evaluates the properties of asphalts, polymers, and/or crudes to develop their suitability for applications in the paving and roofing industries. The Chemist must possess the ability to multi-task and stay on top of tasks in a deadline driven environment, and individuals must display effective time management and organizational skills. The Chemist must take ownership and accountability of work to ensure it is neat, clean, and accurate. Individuals will work on projects and matters of limited complexity in a supported role.

Key Activities Include

+ Develop standards & correlations, develop control charts, review performance and revise practices as necessary, report statistical & apparatus findings and performance weekly, coordinate routine blind sample testing, assist with QA corrective action plans, assist with interlaboratory crosscheck sample sets

Hiring Range

The hiring range for this position is $97,189 to $145,784, plus 10% discretionary bonus. The candidate selected will be placed according to his/her skills and qualifications in the targeted hiring range of $110,000 to $128,000.
