Arrow is growing and we're looking for an experienced full-time Restoration Technician (Drywall Carpenter/Finisher) to join our reconstruction team!

Arrow Service Team is the leader in the disaster restoration industry in North Dakota, based out of Bismarck, North Dakota. If you are looking for a career in the carpentry world and you take pride in your finished work, this is the job for you. We handle a wide variety of carpentry restoration jobs. What makes this position unique is that it entails restoring a property to its pre-state/pre loss look rather than new property construction. If you are a seasoned veteran, you won't get bored with the many different projects we handle on a daily basis. If you are newer to the profession have some experience, we have a team of skilled carpenters ready to share their knowledge.

Training will be fully paid and on-the-job with our experienced restoration/reconstruction team. Expected core training is 2 to 3 weeks but depends on overall progress. In this role, you'll be learning something new every day. Training and skill development is always ongoing.

Primary Job Responsibilities:

Joining drywall panels using tape and joint compound
Install drywall sheets and blending of multitude of textures
Repairing cracks and any other damage to the drywall panels
Concealing any imperfections or exposed irregularities in the drywall surface
Layering joint/mud compound with trowels to create a flat surface
Sanding down rough areas on the wall to create a smooth surface
Skimming the surface with a final layer of joint compound in preparation for finishing work
Managing and maintaining all the required equipment for the job
Informing your supervisor of your progress and reporting any job-related issues
Ensuring that all equipment and materials are used safely and effectively



Other carpenter duties (as needed) include:

Assisting other reconstruction specialists (carpenters), the demolition and/or mitigation when needed
Assisting with installation of windows and doors, setting cabinets and base/casing
Assisting with flooring /sub-flooring and framing



Experience and Skills:

Drywall/carpentry experience (2 plus years preferred, but willing to train the right person)
Individual must be familiar with aspects of the tools, materials, and methods used in drywall and ceiling finishing, patching and texturing
Ability to interpret construction blueprints
Ability to complete projects in a timely manner with minimal supervision
Strong attention to detail and pride in results
Basic math skills. Good problem-solving and analytical abilities
Ability to be professional, act with integrity, and have the ability to show empathy
Must be at least 18 years of age



Physical Demands:

Lift (constantly) 5-15 lbs., lift (frequently) 15-50 lbs
May involve significant stand/walk/ push/pull
Occasional climbing (ladders, etc.), balancing, crouching, frequent stooping, reaching, kneeling, and handling
Ability to work in confined spaces (occasional)
Exposure to weather with temperatures ranging from mild to moderate cold/heat
Exposure to noise levels ranging from moderate to loud from occasional to frequent



Pay:

Starting at $20 - $26/hr., but depends on experience (DOE)
90-day review (potential for wage adjustment)
Annual reviews scheduled thereafter within department review cycle (potential for wage adjustment if applicable)
On-call pay and bonus (once deemed eligible to participate, per occurrence)

Schedule:

40 to 45 hours per week, Monday through Friday, typically 7:30am through 5pm. Occasional 6:30am starts to accommodate travel distance
Occasional over-nights with hotel room paid and per diem provided
Rotating on-call schedule for afterhours (after 5pm) emergencies, which includes weekends



Age Requirement:

Must be at least 18 years of age.


Education:

High school or equivalent



License/Certification:

Valid Driver’s License (required)
Reliable transportation for getting to and from the office/shop
