About This Job


Position Summary:

The responsibility of the Senior Compliance Advisor (CA) is to advise and assist commercial and control functions in their compliance accountabilities for their particular activity sets e.g. oil, natural gas, products etc. The SCA will interact with individuals at various levels within the organization (traders, GMs, schedulers, Risk, VPs) on project work, presentations, operational excellence and ad hoc initiatives.


Duties and Responsibilities:

Support the assigned trading/marketing unit with compliance matters.
Responsible for business communication monitoring.
Responsible for counterparty compliance vetting.
Responsible for daily position limits and trading behavior monitoring, and hedge plan verification.
Conduct compliance exposure assessment on business initiatives.
Prepare and file varieties of regulatory reports related to trading business.
Support the implementation and execution of relevant compliance program(s), including FCPA, sanction and AML compliance, etc.
Interaction with other departments/functions where collaboration is required.
Liaise between relevant department/functions to ensure PCIA activities are properly executed in a compliant manner.
Weekly report regarding compliance areas of concern and work related tasks accomplished.


Desired Skills and Experience

Knowledge of CFTC, FERC and FTC regulations.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Experience reading contracts, tariffs, regulations and rules with the ability to synthesize that information into concise summaries.
Understand basic and complex trading concepts.
Understands the energy business or commodity business.
Understanding of trading markets.
Strong presentation skills for internal and external communication.
Ability to work under high degree of stress.
Negotiation skills.
Trading or Risk control background preferred.
Experience in oil and gas, commodity trading, or related industry.
Bachelor’s degree with minimum of 8 years of related experience.
Multi-lingual skills a plus.
