We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Industrial Electrical Maintenance Technician to support our manufacturing operations at Texas Steel Conversion. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical maintenance within an industrial setting, with hands-on experience in motor controls, PLCs, VFDs, and high-voltage systems. This role plays a key part in maintaining production uptime and ensuring all systems operate safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities:
•Execute electrical isolations and lockout/tagout procedures in accordance with OSHA regulations and TSC’s safety standards.
•Support the planning and execution of electrical preventative maintenance programs for production-critical equipment.
•Maintain and troubleshoot electrical systems including motor control centers, relays, VFDs, generators, batteries, and power transducers.
•Read and interpret technical documentation such as wiring schematics, loop drawings, and P&IDs.
•Perform installation and maintenance of electrical wiring, conduits, panels, and other components per NEC and internal standards.
•Diagnose faults and repair electrical issues in motors, sensors, and industrial control systems used in machining and heat-treat processes.
•Conduct troubleshooting and maintenance of PLC systems, particularly Omron platforms and associated I/O devices.
•Collaborate with mechanical and production teams to minimize downtime and support continuous improvement initiatives.
Qualifications & Skills:
•Ideally within a heavy manufacturing or steel production environment.
•Strong knowledge of LV, MV, and HV power distribution systems.
•Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and maintain PLC systems (Omron experience preferred).
•Familiarity with VFDs, soft starters, and control circuit design.
•Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
•Effective verbal and written communication skills; bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
•Ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments.
