Accountabilities: How You Will Make an Impact

Provide nuclear safety and licensing support to clients in the nuclear sector in the areas of Nuclear Siting, Environmental/Impact Assessments, Deterministic Safety Analysis, Probabilistic Safety Analysis, Operational Nuclear Safety, Emergency Preparedness, Nuclear Security, Regulatory Affairs and other related disciplines.

Propose, plan, lead and/or conduct projects

•

Provide technical leadership and key capabilities in the applicable area

•

Provide technical mentoring to junior staff

•

Carry out work with a view to ensuring customer satisfaction

•

Outline, assign and oversee the tasks of others on the team

•

Support the development of proposals

•

Prepare technical reports suitable for submission to clients and to nuclear regulators (for example, the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission).

•

Occasional travel to other Kinectrics’ locations, client sites, and key industry events will be required.

•

Other duties as required.

What You Need to Succeed

•

Requires advanced knowledge of the theory, principles, and practices associated with science and engineering disciplines normally acquired in a 4-year university education. Additional project management and/or business/financial courses are considered to be an asset.

•

Nuclear safety & licensing experience – 9 years (+/-).

•

New build and/or Small Modular Reactor or Advanced Reactor service experience – 1 years (+/-) is an asset.

•

Fundamental or more advanced knowledge of water cooled and non-water-cooled reactor designs including advanced reactor types is an asset.

•

In-depth understanding of Canadian regulatory requirements and the CSA N286 QA standards.

•

Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to explain regulatory/quality requirements clearly to varied audiences.

•

Familiarity with regulatory requirements in other countries is an asset.

•

Strong interpersonal skills.

•

Strong organizational and project management skills with attention to detail and client satisfaction.

•

Comfort working independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, client-focused environment.

•

In-depth understanding of nuclear power plant design and operation.

•

Must be motivated by working with engineering professionals committed to producing timely and high-quality technical work.

•

Must be able to organize and prioritize assigned work and to coordinate multiple activities efficiently.

•

Flexible in terms of willingness to accept evolving assignments as current projects end and new projects begin.

•

You are innovative, enthusiastic and ready to be part of our dynamic team.

•

P.Eng. or eligibility for licensure in Canada is a strong asset.

•

Experience working directly with or within nuclear utilities, CANDU suppliers, or CNSC-licensed organizations an asset.
